Soundtracks For Scales - Flute
How To Use ALEX Pringle’s Soundtracks For Scales
Welcome everyone! I really hope you enjoy this program and develop a love of all things ‘scaley’.
It’s called ‘SOUNDTRACKS for Scales’ because every piece of music below has been written to go with a picture - a character or a scene – just like the soundtrack to a movie.
Next to each scale track you will notice a little image of Alex Pringle (the creator of these accompaniments) in a variety of costumes doing all kinds of things. These ‘Pringles’ will show you exactly what each of the scales is about. See if you can bring out these characters in your playing.
Tuning
The first 4 tracks on CD 1 are VERY IMPORTANT! They are your tuning notes. There is no way you can play your scales beautifully if you are out of tune so MAKE SURE YOU USE THEM! The A is set to 440HZ.
Where Do I Start?
Wherever you like! Let your teacher direct you or look at the keys your pieces are in and to practice the scales in those keys. Or of course, you can start with the scales for your exam. Enjoy!
